Champion 600 (basically an AA764 circuit) cuts out

I have a Champion 600 which cuts out whenever I hit the strings of my guitar hard however, the sound comes back whenever I tap the chassis anywhere with a non conductive stick. Also this seems to occur when the volume is at 12:00 or higher. I have swapped in numerous new tubes and the issue remains with the amp. Also I am testing it with an extension cabinet so speaker vibrations will not affect the circuit. At this point I am thinking this issue is due to a failing component but would like to ask for assistance as to where I should look. I have already checked the plate resistors and they seem to be fine and I have also re-melted all the solder joints to be sure none of them are cold but the symptoms persist. Any help wold be greatly appreciated.
