amp building book

Post by kronat »

Hi all.

I'm new to the DIY vacuum tube world, and (as I'm a guitarist) I want to make my first step building amps.

I know some electronics basic principles (I've done it in high school) so I know what is a potentiometer, an high-pass filter and so on (Kirchoff rules, and blabla), but a lot of time has passed since I was actively looking into these things.

Do you recommend any book to start? As example, I looked into the Mike Romberg's scheme of Cerberus (you can find it in the Marshall section) but I don't know, for instance, the purpose of the resistor cross ( 1M - 1M with 470 and 10K) in the power section.

As the first time, I'm planning to buy the Madamp M15Mk1 kit and start to do some soldering :-)

Thank you for any hints.
