New builder looking for a mentor

Hi. I'm new to this site as of today. I've read a number of interesting threads so far.
I have some limited experience in building kits-a MOD 101 and a couple of pedal kits, and have done a couple of mods on amps that have been very successful.
I have decided to build a scratch built original, and I would love to have a local mentor to go to with questions.
What I have in mind is to build something simple and then evolve it into something more powerful and sophisticated as time and resources become available.
