Whatever you do, don't glue the heel of the sock to the heel of the shoe. It makes it impossible to slide the shoe-spoon in.
And don't (I repeat: don't) use contact cement. It just isn't possible to get the sock aligned with the shoe mating surface without getting wadded up. Really uncomfortable.

This is essentially what HAD did. Build a switchable SS effect into a tube amp.

Is the FET input buffer an "effect", or a way of getting a clean signal from an acoustic pickup into the amp (or a more hi-fi signal from active electronics)?

It's more or less an Alembic Strat-o-blaster, innit? Simple single FET, clean gain, choose your input load R up into the multi meg-ohms. I could be wrong... But a SoB makes a great buffer for piezo pickups. FWIW it's best implemented at the guitar end of the cable but . . . there it is, in the amp.NickC wrote:Cantplay wrote:This is essentially what HAD did. Build a switchable SS effect into a tube amp.

I will just build the pedal then
Maybe I WILL do a flocking paint job on it
Then it will be double redundant.

That's what I say: flock it!beasleybodyshop wrote:I will just build the pedal then![]()

FWIW late 60's-early 70's Foxx-tone pedals did come in flock finish, red, black, blue. They had a unique circuit that would give you a double-frequency overtone when playing single note leads about an octave up on the E string. Something else I racked up back in the day when everybody & their cousin was beating a path to Bob Bradshaw's door step. Sounds fizzy - you bet - on purpose. Foxxy even, with a flock finish.

NickC,
Oh great. Now I suppose you are going to tell me I shouldn't have put the shoes and socks on my feet while the contact cement was still tacky. I just hope these don't go out of style anytime soon.

Glad this thread veered away from putting pedal inside amp.
With that mentality why don't you also put in chorus, flanger, delay, envelope filter, ring modulator, octaver, compressor, LoFi, treble boost, bass boost, amp emulators, cab sims...oh wait, Line 6 already did all that.
Maybe put the sock-in-shoe idea on top so you can stand on it.
And don't forget the servo motors on the wheels with remote so you don't have to carry it!
Oh wait.......Put the guitar inside with autopick switch.
And a compartment for groupies wearing those psychodelic shoes posted above.
