Seppo,
Yes, I still have the amp. I did change some resistor values as suggested by Phil above. It works well. I use a VVR for bedroom playing volumes. Feel free to experiment and post your results!

Some stupid question beloved, iam build one 5F2A by old tube radio chassis and transformer and used vvr. So, i have not lot of skill yet.
I have also thought to put vvr this octal amp, maybe also that case with 6AK6 tubes. I have Indel 40/002 pt that gives 200-0-200, with diode bridge more and Hammond 125E ot, also i have Indel TGL20/002 ot(20va 8ohm-10k primary)
Your schematic looks same at ordinary 5E3, except some values and extra resistor an cap. So, 5E3 layout with mod can be used?
Did you scale whole amp with vvr?
I dont understand what Phil mean in his previous message:"Really, put a 5K across R24 and R25."

Re: Octal Deluxe
Seppo, welcome to Ampgarage! Phil means "put a 5K in parallel with R24 and another 5K in parallel with R25". This changes R24 to about 4K and R25 to about 2K, increasing the plate voltages at those points.

Yes, I scaled the whole amp with the VVR. It seems to work well for the 5e3 style amps at least.

Thank you David, nice to be here. Ok, now i understood. Nice to hear it Christopher. Today i tested 6SL7WGT in 5f2a and i like it. Tomorrow i gonna test 6ak6 in pa. Little proto.
