What preamp tube dominates the tone chain?

Thank you, Roberto! Since I asked the question about gain, I went back to the LND150 datasheet and realized I missed the output characteristics graph the first time around. The curves are so perfectly shaped compared to tubes, I just glopped over it. I haven't plotted a load line yet, but I will do that. I've already got 10 of these in my Mouser shopping cart for my next order. I've also got some DN3545N3-G's in my cart - they look like they can tolerate a bit more voltage swing on the gate.

Yes, the nice part is that you can drop in any amp without problems.
No need to care about heaters and there are always 2-3 mA more on the B+.
Bot as a "bright" boost or a loopfx, it's really easy to be implemented.
