Does this sound like bad tubes?

Post by muse6992 »

Hey guys, I recently got a great deal on a 5150. However I noticed recently when I put the amp on standby it makes a weird sound. The amp sounds lovely when it's played, however even after playing for maybe 20 minuets or so I put it on stand by, come back to it a little bit later, makes the same sound. I have a video of the sound I'm talking about.

If that's the only weird sound it ever makes, I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks, for your response. I got the thing on Craigslist so you know that whole ordeal haha. Somebody else told me it sounded like a failing capacitor going out in the circuitry. So naturally I was like  afterwards he said he wasn't great with amp repair so don't take it as sound advice.
