Still New, Only Second Topic,
What is some at least "OK" software for drawing schematics and amp layout drawings? I have a fairly new Mac. I found and tried to run "diy-layout-creator" but when I download it and attempt to open it, I get messages like "File Is Damaged-You Should Move It To The Trash"! Are there any other good programs that don't require being a computer whiz to install and operate? Once this new addiction of amp building REALLY takes hold, I will be very eager to share ideas and results, but feel the serious need for proper communication/language/etc.
TIA,
Gene
I think jschem may be able to open ExpressSCH files but I am not certain. Jschem is a FREE editable schematic drawing program.
IF Jschem opens ExpressSCH. The Hoffman forum has 100's of editable schematic and layouts. There are also editable D-style files, Fenderish, Marshallish and Voxish ExpressSCH schematics on TAG.
Since always I'm using DIYLC (now version 3), if you are at least a little creative, you can do everything with that. Samples are on my website, the link is in my signature

torg,
That is exactly what I would like to use and what I referred to in my first post. I simply don't understand how to get it to run on my MAC. I'm not a computer geek, I don't understand "JAVA" or how it works and it seems that every damned thing I ever try to use that claims "To use this software/widget/etc, simply make sure that you have downloaded the last JAVA JRE!" Bullhockey, it never F-ing works. if anyone can steer me straight I would be grateful, as I have no patience for spending weeks reading through all of Oracle's java crap to understand it just to use some software to save me a little time. Please understand I'm not angry with you, simply frustrated by software companies that just assume that we all know the inner workings of computers and all the acronyms and what they mean. JSTFTUYAATI! If you figure that one out, we'll likely be friends for life!
Thank You,
Gene

Gane, I have no idea why it's not working on your Mac. I know few blokes wo use it daily on apple macs. Maybe the newest version have some problems with mac, It happened in past. The software creator don't uses Apple, he works on PC's, and as far as I remember he have no way to test it on Apple. Maybe try the earlier version? I could send you my installation (I'm using v3,27), but sadly (yes, sadly!) I'm working on PC. Try emailing Bane @ bancika@gmail.com - he's cool guy, and I'm sure he will help you out
