Thanks for the pic and drawing!! This is probably a dumb question, but where do I measure the A, B, C, D, and E voltages?

Thanks,

Corey

Hey guys,

I think I put together what your looking for. I could not measure any heater voltages or anode voltages on the rectifier. All voltages were measured relative to chassis ground.

Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks,

Corey

You are measuring DC volts, so where you get zero, there could be AC voltage (+ and -) centered around zero DC. That is likely the case with the rectifier anodes and heater pins. I don't see anything out of line there, so if there is a problem it's something more subtle.

I think the amp has softer feel due to smaller 8uf filter caps.

My clone isn't identical to Dr Z's since I have different OT, PT and choke but I like it better then a Rocket smoother I think.

I've borrowed mine out to quite a few guys and each love the amp. Maybe that will generate sales for Mike Z. :)

Thanks for this Randall. I can't believe I missed this thread when I was building mine. I have labored over the dropping string, as I have seen a few values mentioned.. 27k/22k/27K, and 22/22/22 as you have in your data. I have no reason to doubt since this is obviously your amp, but looking at the photos that second band on both droppers in PS looks black to me. 20K? I'm curious as how you got to 22K, as little difference as it is.. FWIW, I just went 20k/22k/27K and my voltages are now dead on with yours(speed setting), with the exception of V1, which I have around 310. This is the best this amp has sounded.https://tubeamparchive.com/download/file.php?id=28100

Not a Trainwreck guy but here is a generic voltage chart that may be of some use.
