Question for the tube gurus......

I know the EL-37 is the british version of the 6L6 but.....
If I'm using a "modern" valve tester like the Orange VT1000 that doesn't have the tube denomination "EL-37" could I use the 6L6 category to test that valve? How diferent are inside?

You go here and verify if they are the same pin out and specs are close enough. http://tubedata.itchurch.org/index.html If so, then you test it the same way as a 6L6.
