Post by kotatsuk »

Hi

what are you using guys to produce schematics?
hand drawing is good until I try to show you
I'm gonna mess a bit with the rocket schematic to reduce it to 2 el84 nd I need a software for having it clean to read.

This one is free and you will find editable schematics on this site created with it. Runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux:

You can also look at ExpressSCH:
http://www.expresspcb.com/expresspcbhtm ... ftware.htm

AND .............. IF you look here:

http://www.el34world.com/Forum/index.php?board=12.0

There are 100's of editable schematics and layouts that I think (?) J-schem can open.

And in the D-files there are more editable schematics labeled as editable. Same is true under Fender, Marshall and Vox on TAG.

I use KiCad for my schematics. I had to define my own symbols, the library that it came with wasn't very good, but once that was done it's been smooth sailing.

Yes, I used Tiny Cad for awhile but now I much prefer ExpressSCH.

Hi

I was wondering if anyone came across any schematic design software that has also analysis capabilities ( i.e. LT Spice ) that can run on Mac OS.

I've been using Jschem since I started because it was the first recommended to me,band I've just been copying and pasting ever since. I would not, however, ever recommend it to anyone else for one reason alone... No UNDO function. Horrible!

They are working on it, I think as there are many requests for tube models. Anyway, another way to do it is Eagle for schematic capture and MacSpice for simulation.

Eagle
MacSpice

or of course, use BootCamp to run Windoz software (many to choose from).

If you want to run Windoze, download the free VirtualBox and you won't have to reboot.

I appreciate the help guys

I am aware of the big variety in the windoze domain but I made the transition from PC to Mac recently. Just want to see if there is any solution before I install windows ( once again ) . Thanks again, I will check out your suggestions.
