I bet! Not too many people I've heard of that warranted actual 'hate' from Ken. Allegedly, just mentioning Weber to Ken after all the bullshit took place would set Ken in a pretty foul mood.

IMO Ken understood he had been dealing with a timewasting bozo. And need not waste any more time on that subject. I have ex-customers like that. Gotta move on, not focus & waste more time on people that just don't get it.

The one I worked on sounded good, but had a few issues. The poor lead dress and some scary grounds. one ground via an eyelet board screw! Poor filter caps. It even had heater hum from poor lead dress. The amp sounded great after these things were fixed. I really liked it after that.Leo_Gnardo wrote:Looks like an explosion in a spaghetti factory. I've had to fix - properly - more Diaz crap than I care to think about. Latest was a tweed Pro, purported to be his own 'pet' amp. Had at least 13 things wrong with it. With an amp so simple, that means almost everything. It was barely hanging together.

had the pleasure of meeting Caesar back in the day shortly before he passed
he was hanging around a club that my buddy did sound at in Pennsylvania
he got us a gig there and Caesar was nice enough to offer one of his amps to play through after he saw my Vox and my Gretsch - guess I passed the test
Amp was real nice, great tone
But I also heard horror stories of what was going on under the hood, and him being difficult to deal with.
I chatted him up during a break, treating him like a legend. He was actually pretty cordial. He did like to name drop, but then again he DID work with some big names.
I chatted my way into an offer from him for an amp at dealer cost, but I passed. A) it was still a lot of money even at cost, and B) see above statement about what was under the hood.
I guess if you get a good sounding one and don't open it for repairs, you're okay.

He'd be better off gooping the circuit so no one had to look at it... And so none of his handiwork budged.
