PCB Repair
Can anyone recommend a place for PCB repair, best in or around Los Angeles / San Fernando Valley area, but shipping is alright, too.
Thanks very much

Re: PCB Repair
What are having repaired? More than half the time the manufacture is the best bet or certified service tech for the product because they don't repair as often as replace boards.

Re: PCB Repair
Well, it's a simple PCB (for emissions control) from a mid-80s Toyota. Part is long discontinued ... I'm asking here because the Toyota forums have no idea. Since I used to collect Tube Amps for 78 rpm record playback, I thought this would be a better place to find a source...
Just looking for a tech who works out of his garage to check out this small board and repair, if necessary. There are hundreds of people who could potentially use this service, just no one on the Toyota forum has sourced it, yet.

A television repair shop or home stereo repair center would be your best bet. Probably $45-65 hourly rate. Probably take an hour to diagnose. Not sure about sourcing parts???
Could probably get a board at a pick a part junk yard for $5

Re: PCB Repair
No "damage" that I can see. Nothing obviously burned, top or bottom - And I checked the solders on the back. Problem is supposed to be some of the connections for the green connector crack, but again, I checked them with a multitester, though I'm really a novice at this stuff, so that's why I need a pro (or good hobbist !)LeftyStrat wrote:Got a photo of the damage?
Truck is a Land Cruiser and they very very rarely show up in wrecking yards.

Yep, let us see the other side. Also update your location in your profile. You never know, one of us might be close enough to give it a look.

Re: PCB Repair
Red arrow points to what may be a via hole. But it sort of looks like a solder connection missing.

Re: PCB Repair
Okay, but look above it two solder pads away. That one should be connected to a resistor.
EDIT: Nevermind, that's another hole and the resistor pad is above it.
Have you cleaned the contacts on the green connector?
