Help! Wanting to build simple pre-amp for Peavey Heritage
Hi, I'm a new dummy in the realm of amp building. I can play guitar like nobodys business, but I have a project I am considering and I don't have a clue. I saw where someone on here had put together a few different tube pre-amps for these Peavey VTS amps that are tube output stage, but have solid state pre-amps. I have been a tube amp lover for over 40 years and I do have a decent amount of knowledge about electronics but would have no idea on God's Green Earth where to start on a quest like this. I know enough to drain caps. etc before touching anything. I learned the hard way. Once when I was about 16 I took apart my '73 50 watt Marshall and unplugged I touched the wrong area and it about tossed my ass across the room! Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated!

Jimi, Jimmy, Johnny, Jeff, Old Eric, and a whole lot of older as well as newer artists are what keep me alive! You can never stop learning from players new and old alike.
