Deluxe reverb kit : Best option???

Post by Markusv »

Hi Folks

A friend of mine wants to order a Deluxe Reverb kit and have me assemble it
I live in the Toronto area, so shipping may be a factor

First off:
Is there a kit supplier that stands out above the rest?
Secondly- If I simply order the parts separately- will I save much?
Thirdly- I may have to customize a faceplate as he wants some added bells and whistles. Where is the best source for that

Any insights please and as always, -thanks in advance

.........Now where did I put it?

Consider BNP Laser for the face plate.

I have done a lot of business with them over the years and have never been disappointed.

Are you familiar with any graphics and/or drawing programs? BNP is most "conversant" with Corel Draw but may be able to convert from other programs easily (e.g., AutoCad, etc..).

Sorry, not much to offer on the kits. I have built a couple of Weber kits (5F6A Bassman and a Heather) and had no issues. Part quality (e.g., pots and jacks in particular) was a bit sketchy. But...I have heard that they have improved since then.

Good luck,

My first amp build was a Deluxe Reverb kit from Marsh. It's mostly a Mojo kit at a better price with decent instructions for even a novice. After a little debugging of my mistakes, the amp worked and sounds great.

mojotone overestimates shipping charges - but if you look at what they actually end up charging you its the standard rate. Kind of annoying, but it is one of the only drawbacks of doing business with them. They make great stuff.
