DIY eyelets, quik twist around a 1/8 drill bit, two small holes, insert and crimp the back in whatever the insulating material is.
terminal strips and component boards up on stand offs like any thing else or sandwich the back with another layer of insulting material.

Re: eyelets from scratch
I am so doing this. Thanks andy
Re: eyelets from scratch
Great idea, you can probably just do one hole. The assembly will not rotate once the other components are soldered to it unless there is only one from one side, or maybe if they are heavy like filter caps, etc.
Nice to have the size adjustable to taste as well.

Re: eyelets from scratch
I'd stick to two wire sized holes, treat the back like a crimped staple.
I have a drill press so it's not an issue, the extra security is more than worth it.
I know it not as wizz bang as eyelets, but you have to build with what you got.
It can be bench scrap,... or,... it can be the metal of your choice, this leads to precious metals
and you want it to be very secure for a variety of wire hardness's.
I like the flexibility of it too, eyelet size, wire diameter,... I have a couple small projects, another tube dirt pedal, a practice amp,
that have simple circuit layouts and need only a few terminal strips to pull off, build to suit.
