thanks for all the comments, for now I'm just going to adjust the bias hotter and get used to the amp and enjoy it before I do any mods.That way I'll be more likely to notice the mod changes.

I'm no DR guru, but an easy mod to try would be to increase the value of the 0.022uF coupling cap out of channel 2 stage 2 (C12 on the DRRI schematic), which will increase the low end as opposed to reducing the high end. I say easy because all you have to do is parallel another 0.022 (say) across C12 and see what happens.

interesting link there. I wonder if that poster would've found his tone with a solid state rectifier and 6L6's.

My goodness, I'm just loving this amp more and more. I think I'll just leave it stock and keep on enjoying it the way it is. I can really see now why so many people love these amps.
