Stare at the tone circuit for a while--there is an error in there.
Where's the coupling cap for the first gain stage?
What if you moved the R and C for the first cathode--moved it to between the tone parts and the second Rk/Ck parts. That would shorten that wire a lot. Maybe it won't fit and will make other connections worse when they move to make room. But, contemplate it. Sit and stare at it for a while.
