Here's a guy that made his mark by listening to his customers and giving them what they wanted. I have owned a half a dozen Marshall amps and they were all a blast to play.

RIP Father of Loud.

I got my first Marshall stack when I was 12. Marshall amps are half of every conversation I ever had that made sense. Without a Marshall, I am left wanting. It's like food. I celebrate them every day of my life, and that isn't going to change.

Today, I play. Thanks, Mr. Marshall!

I got my first Marshall when I was 44. Late to the game would be an understatement! I love my 1983 JCM 800 2203! Going to practice tomorrow with by AC/DC tribute band, and opening (again!) for Y&T on April 27. See, if you make a great contribution to the arts, your name will live on and on.

Marshall.

Is there any other scenario were one would mourn the death of a guy that caused permanent hearing damage in my left ear? No.

Sad day for rock.

That's a tall order. I'm thinking that it would have to be at least three amps. Plexi - Bluesbreaker - JMP - JCM There was a lot of great sounding amps to choose from.

There are a few Holy Grail Marshalls, but most of the tube powered Marshalls sounded pretty good compared to other mass produced amplifiers.

Sad loss. It's kind of hard to think of Rock n Roll without Marshall amps.

I admire him for really listening to musicians. 100 watt amps, 4x12 cabinets, etc, all came from input of the musicians using his gear.

Of course I'm sure every roadie in the world is happy the 8x12 didn't catch on. :D

Thanks Jim.

Two things I'll never forget.
The first time I heard a cranked Plexi.
Being too close to a Pig.
Rest in Peace Jim.
