I'm building a 5E3 from scratch and this 12AY7 cropped up on ebay. As I think most, if not all 12AY7's were manufactured in the US, I guess this should be a re-branded something else, can anyone identify it?

Looks like a GE made one to me.

The dot pattern is a dead giveaway for a GE tube. I've never encountered anyone who actually knows what the dot patterns mean, but they seem to be universally present, etched into the glass.

2 votes for GE !
Not bad for £1.71 ( I hope ).
I've got to finish this Deluxe before I can test it though!
Cheers,
Rob.

I've not seen anyone else use the dot pattern besides GE, and they made tubes for a lot of rebrands.

It is definitely a GE, and they made good 12AY7s, and 6072s as well, which I prefer. I recently finished a 5E8A low power Twin and used two GE 6072 triple mica and one Five Star 6072. Great tubes!
