Vibroworld

Post by RightLurker »

Does anyone know if Vibroworld has reopened or is still in business? Their website says they closed temporarily back in January of 2008, but the site still looks functional. I'm looking for a three section can capacitor - 40 x 30 x 10 @ 350 volts for a '60s Vox Cambridge Reverb. Vibroworld has the part (or at least the website says they do). I'd rather keep the amp as original as possible than mounting three separate caps, and I can't find the part anywhere else.

Thanks!

Weber offers a custom service for cap cans. You may request a quote by filling the form at the bottom of this page:

Hi RL
Saw you old post and wondered if you ever located one of these? I am in the same bind on my 65 and would appreciate amy guidance on getting my hands on a replacement cap for the Cambridge Reverb. I have sent an email to Weber but haven't heard back yet.

If you can't order a custom cap you can cut open the housing you have and replace the caps inside. or use a JJ multi cap 40/20/20/20. lower the 30 to 20 and run the two 20's as a 10.

Weber lists this multi-section cap: EC20x3-30-450, 20uF x 3 and 30uF @ 450VDC. Parallel two of the 20's and you have 40, 30, 20. It's 1" diameter... don't know if that's what you need or not.
