First amp build... Eagle Supre- Questions

Post by blues junkie »

So I recieved my Eagle Supre (Thanks RJ) and I have some questions.

1) Do I need to prep the turrets before soldering?

2) What temp is recommended for soldering board components? (700 degrees F)

I think that is about all I have for now. :D I'm sure as the build progresses I will have more questions and if I can't find the answer's on my own with the help of the search function, I will most likely be asking all the experts here, so my apologies in advance for all the silly questions I will be asking in the near future.

Any other tips for a sucessfull build would be very much appreciated and thanks in advance to all the good folks here at TAG.

Chuck.

If they are the same turrets I got with the kit, you will want to maybe rub em down with rubbing alcohol first to at least make sure they are clean. Mine were very difficult to solder to.

2) What temp is recommended for soldering board components? (700 degrees F)

I dial my Xytronic 137ESD to 700.

Have fun!

Hey Surf,

Thanks alot. Yes I'm sure there the same turrets that you had on your kit and the same ones that I thought I read a thread on that they were a real PITA to solder.

I will clean em up and hopefully they will cooperate.
