I also have both of the Merlin books as well as the 3 Kuehnel books. I just started the 5F6-a Bassman book. heavy math right from the begining. I read Robert Megantz's "design and construction of tube guitar amplifiers" first. It is supposed to be easier than the other two author's books. It had math in it but nothing like the 5F6-A book has. Yes I glazed over some on the math but i also planned to re-read it in hopes that it would become more clear. But I really wanted to at least try reading the 5F6-A book before rereading it because I was hoping it would be applying why certain values were chosen for certain reason's and maybe make things more clear for me.

Re: So I got Merlin's Books....
One book I have (a lucky thrift store find for 50cents! ) has helped me more than anything. Its called Principles of Applied Electronics by Ben Zeines. Its a first print from 1963 and has loads of tube info in it.I havent looked for it but it may be on Google books or something since it is so old.
