The Spitfire takes pedal very well too!

Alright, after FedEx lost my second package this year*, I finally received enough parts to get this build going.

I have a few questions regarding my transformers and AC wiring.
I bought the transformers from Dave West.
The diagram - HTTP://WestLabs.com/colorcode.gif - says to tie the brown to brown/white and the black to the black/white for 120V.
What way should I go about doing this? In other words, should I use a terminal, or connect the wires as described, then solder a wire to each respective pair and wrap them with heat shrink?

Next, is their a practical diagram, or an explanation anywhere on how to wire in the power, standby, pilot and fuse for this amp? I'm new to schematic reading and I don't want to screw it up.

Lastly, which wire on the PT would be "0"?

*Since January 1, 2011 FedEx lost two of my packages, UPS lost one, CSX shipped one of my boxcars up to Tennessee, and delivered the wrong boxcar to us on a separate occasion. Have their routing computers been hacked, or is service just sucking more?

Kregg,

You can use a terminal strip for this if you like.

I do this:

Twist together the black & black/white and trim to same length then solder to power switch.

Twist together the brown & brown/white together trim to same length and solder to the neutral of IEC or power cord.

Attached are some layouts you can use.

This is the TDS in a Lighting, I used a terminal strip with a jumper since I intend to use the 220V option in the future, 2 minutes with a soldering iron and off I go. I glued the West diagram to the inside so I (or anyone) always knows what's what.

BTW I used a piece of buss bar for the jumper, it's thick and a PITA to fit. I had no solid core 18awg around - I found brass brads, cut the head off, bend to shape make great jumpers. Check they are real brass, I found that nowadays even those are faux. I'm telling yah, the world is going to hell as fast as it can. We can't even afford to use a fraction of a gram of brass in a brad.

Mark, That first file is the one I'm working off, though, with an added standby. I meant to add that in an edit, but, the site didn't reconnect at the time.

RP, Greta suggestion on posting diagrams for future reference. I remember when nearly every electronic device came with those.

Thank you both.
Sincerely,
Craig

Kregg,

Here is a Brown Note 18 Lite IIB that you can go by as well.

Notice the very colorful lots of wiring and a turret strip for the AC.

Aside from some parts delays, house guests and my hectic work schedule here's where I am so far. Lots of loose ends!

After reading the post in the Dumble section regarding foil direction, it looks like I need to reposition one of the Sozo caps.

Turret board is from Watts.
Transformers from West.
Caps from RJ and Sozo.
Most components from Antique Electronic Supply, Mojo and Mouser.
Angela's stocks the Hammond steel black powder coated chassis.
I picked up open-end rivet nuts and tool (to attach the chassis) from McMaster-Carr. Very cool tool.

P.S. The speaker, Scumback H75-8 30w, should arrive this week (4/27). Then I can build the small cabinet ... any Tolex/grill cloth ideas Gents?
