I Have a nice Grundig 1070 Majestic Int. If you are radio hound and can offer some suggestions on removing the chassis to clean and check caps please PM.

Believe it or not - but the dishwasher is actually quite effective in cleaning gunk from old chassis......I've done it several times myself, but not with transformers in..... depends how they look, if they are sealed / sealable - or remove them...? Any other components that may be harmed by water?
Leave in a warm place to dry thorougly for a few days.......
( tubes etc. removed , of course... :) )

Really

You are kidding?? I have it disassembled and clean, the blue molded caps look good but there is a cap-can 2x50 385v that seems to have a little cream colored paste protruding from the very top of the can??

Onward.
