EL84 socket spacing

Post by Gaz »

I can't find a datasheet with any info about recommended spacing between EL84s. Any recommendations? (Please specify center to center or between envelopes). Thanks a lot for any help.

Rule of thumb is at least one tube's width between power tubes.
Life is a tale told by an idiot -- full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

...in other words: rock and roll!

I asked JJ some years ago about this for EL84's , This was the response I got
There are not standards for these fitting.

But if you use approx. 3centimeters between tubes there will not be a problem.
Pretty much what the trainwreck chassis is spaced at.
