Re: AO-44 PT Specs
There's a lot of guys selling (the same) replacement trannies, but no specs.
Just a guess, with those tubes you probably have 6.3VAC @ 3A and 100-150mA on the HT. But you probably knew that...

Re: AO-44 PT Specs
Hi John- I can't offer an exact answer, but I do use these amps as a donor amp to build 18 watt Lite circuit amps from. Both with a tube rectifier and a diode rectifier. That powers two el84 power tubes and 2 12ax7 preamps and a rectifier tube. Never any problem with that load. I find these to be pretty robust but smaller than the AO39 amps or the AO35 (Dr Z liked these for his Carmen Ghia series when he started).
Hope this helps

Re: AO-44 PT Specs
mmmoser -- sorry to hijack the thread, but do you squeeze some sort of eyelet or turret board into the ao-44 chassis, or do it all PTP?
I recently did something similar with an ao-43, and I'm thinking about a smaller footprint for the next one.

Any old tagline will do
Re: AO-44 PT Specs
PT 250-0-250
The PT is fairly robust considering it runs a EZ81 rectifier, and 2 ECL86 tubes without even sweating.
I have one built up by mmmoser as a Lite IIb and it rips.

Re: AO-44 PT Specs
Hi- yes, that is one of my little amps built into this chassis. I do build a very compact eyelet board for these little guys. As you can see, its really a combination of some point to point and eyelet board.
