speaker headphone question
can a set of headphone be put into the speaker jack on an amp and not fry the output trans?
Re: speaker headphone question
I suspect it would blow your ears off. Also, I believe most headphones are 32 ohms.
Re: speaker headphone question
Also most headphones can handle a few watts, not the power tube amps put out.
Best idea is a line out, and level control to go along with it.

Re: speaker headphone question
Some amps have this, ss Marshalls come to mind. Hunt through schematic-heaven and just copy it, and then tweak as necessary.
Re: speaker headphone question
quick answer no...
long answer.... if you matched ohm loads and used a dummy load with it to soak up most of the power.. maybe...
honestly save your amp and the headphones and stick to the first answer!
you can however plug the headphones into a a mic pre and use them as a microphone

If the amp has an FX loop, I wonder how they would work to plug them into the send jack.
Of course only one speaker will work unless you use an adapter.
