There are some really good single ended designs at the AX84 site, as well as a theory behind it guides. It might steer you in the right direction. Check put the valve wizard site as well (Merlin B) for theory.

Not to sound like I am pushing KOC's books, but TUT3 has a large chapter on just about everything someone would want to do with a champ / SE design. Everything from traditional to JCM 800 front ends to parallel output tubes.

I designed a similar amp using their London power standard pre amp design. The design would do exactly what you are wishing, but this damn divorce derailed me before getting it built.

Thanks Passfan!

I just went to AX84. Looks very useful. I will register over there in the coming days too. Thanks for the heads-up.

Thanks again John. I will definitely locate that text.

Sorry to hear about your break up. For whatever it is worth, things will get better. I know.

Thanks for the words of support AJD, I hope they do get better. I'm, a busy single Dad now, not much time for amp building or playing. Funny, stopped building 13 years ago when the family started and again now with the divorce. I know building will start up again, just have to get my feet back on the ground.

Thanks.

Hey Passfan,
Thanks for the Valve Wizard tip. I just checked it out and it looks great. Looks like I'll be reading all of that starting right now........
