Not very tech but... Recover an old White / Princeton amp

I have an old White practice amp by Fender. I got it stripped on the outside but still has the deep blue grille cloth. After 15 years of deciding I tried using the Fender smooth white/ cream tolex. Looks goofy. Plus that stuff is too thick to work easily on this little cab. I had a few scraps of the silvery shark material they used. Anyone have a suggestion for a close substitute ?
