Probably not. They're too big to fit on the board.

I've read about that but haven't seen anybody do it.

Like David said, a 5uf,l 10uf, 25uf film cap is huge in size.

Don't let that smoke out!

Hello,

just buy caps for smaller voltage and they´ll fit nicely.
I´m using Vishay BC 50V-types for everything from 1µ - 22µ, works fine.

Cheers,

Hi!

You can put small film caps across the electrolytics, too.
I've put film caps in several amps, but mostly prefer bipolars or good electrolytics. It depends on the amp and sound youre after. Stages can get too "fast" ...

Size isn't that much of an issue. I have a 1uF Panasonic stacked metal film cap the size of 1 square cm. There are others not too big, but of course the price raises. I haven't tried film caps in the mentioned position myself, so I'm wondering if there is any (sonical) benefit, other than a longer life of the cap.

Can you describe what you mean by "too fast"?

Thanks!

Hi Martin - so, are you saying perhaps there is an effect, maybe locally, on slew rate (I'm guessing)? I see what you're saying - not entirely clearly, but to a degree ;) I'm guessing a solens "fast" cap would exacerbate such an issue then, yes?

:)
