Sounds great!
How much did you change the OD entrance by? From xx K ohms wiper to ground to yy K ohms wiper to ground. What is the trimpot value and the preceding resistor?

Super tone
Very very nice tone my man.. so tell us more what hast thou done....
Re: Cranked up the OD trim and this is what i got...
seems a bit low gain for a crancked od trim, am I missing something?
If I cranck the od trim on mine, I can shred, it has a ton of gain, very "boogie style".
However, nice tone man!

I am usually more scientific/descriptive when I post stuff, but i just did this one without thinking. At the time i was surprised at what a big difference it made just changing the OD trim a little bit. To answer some of your questions: the OD entrance is 220k > 250k trim. On the clip I posted a couple of days ago, my trim was set at ~60k to ground. I have been locked into this setting for a week or so and thinking this was the sweet spot. And it is in some ways, but then I kicked it up to what is now ~74k and this clip is what it sounds like. You can't really compare the 2 clips because this one is just OD and the other is OD + PAB but when I was using just OD before, it did not sound like this one. It seems to be more touch responsive now and chimes like a mother!angelodp wrote:Very very nice tone my man.. so tell us more what hast thou done....
This amp will definitely do the Boogie thing, but its not really what i am after. My initial volume setting is only at 12 oclock and 11 oclock with the drive. At half cranked, a audio taper pot is only about 20% - 30% so I could go insane on the gain if I wanted to. for my application, i don't dare go much higher on my trim setting. I might even have to back it off a bit. I liked this sound and want to keep the ability to recreate it, but I really need to be able to clean up to the point where with OD on by itself, the amp will be usefull for clean SRV stuff and then do the LC, RF stuff too. PAB on this amp is for the EJ stuff and some RF. With my latest trim change, the PAB does the Santana thing pretty well but it is a little trickier to dial in the others. I would say with the higher trim setting, if you are used to working your guitar volume, then no problem. BTW- the way I do PAB is a bit different. Mine sounds like PAB AND mid boost together. REALLY REALLY FAT. I just don't care for PAB by itself (especially on a non HRM amp), too middy for me (thats the Boogie sound, which sorry, but I never cared for). I like more low end mixed in there...massygt6 wrote:seems a bit low gain for a crancked od trim, am I missing something?

thanks for the comments. I am getting the head and speaker cabs today so will soon be able to try this with two new g1265 speakers.
