EJ tone from a Bluesmaster...

Post by Normster »

I don't know if you guys saw this on TGP, Moss's latest Brown Note Blue Monkey 88 Reverb. He had the gain turned up and put a delay pedal in the loop...instant EJ (sorta).

That amp and a fender is quite obviously the INSPIRATION for just @ all Dumbles as you WELL know, Me think EJ`s tone on that Marshall at the bottom line show is just SPECTACULAR, i think i HEAR a FEW Dumble tweaks in it do you?? lol!

btw, gotta 74 super lead in for repair ( totally stock!) LETS GO MAMA!!

I totally AGREE!!.. I've built a bunch of clones Twrecks, D-style, Fender, etc.. I still think to this day the perfect topology for a guitar amplifier is Fender Bassman,JTM 45,1959 Superlead...Cathode follower driven tonestack w/big-ass transformers..If you can run them up loud enough to push that cathode follower and saturate the output section I'll plug a Strat into that before any D-Design amp have a nice day... Now for Humbuckers that a different story.. I would have to go with the big guy on a humbucker loaded axe!!..Yeah yeah! I know we're all pushed into corners we don't care to be in.. Can't play that loud.. Too much gain, my back hurts.. Still doesn't diminish the creativity and overall joy one gets from playing through a rig like EJ's cranked.. I for one miss it..

By the way does anyone know if Eric still has the Strat he used on this video..

I had heard he had it taken from him and thought I'd heard he had it returned .. anyone here would be so kind as to share the story.. I'd appreciate it..
