ACOUSTIC KISSES

Post by cornel moldovan »

As a tube addicted , I scuba Googled , and I found in the end the CTP 1-Cool TUBE acoustic guitar preamp, showed for the first time at NAMM in 2004 as the first tube preamp, used on acoustic guitars ,also able to receive LR BAGGS piezo signal and separate TRI-AX magnetic pick upinput, together at one time,, supplied only with 4 AA batteries, heaters 3v... Listen to Brad Davis's samples...SUPER PROFESSIONAL SOUND..but sorry ,it works nicely only for some hours .. BATTERIES RUNS DRY.. As a skeptic one that i am , i continued digging and i found the ALEMBIC tube preamp, using normal tube voltages. My plan is to substitute the fet circuit with a 12 AU7, as in the Cool tube preamp.CTP-1 ., but buffered with a kathode follower, for matching the impedances, and not affecting the rest of the normal imput.here is my schematic

looks cool. I'd also be interested as what the sunrise tube pre-amp is. Looks to me like 2X12a? and a transistor. No tone controls....
