HRM: regular or BM PI

Post by fabiomayo »

Hi everyone.

So, could you give me your thoughts on each topology?

I'm starting my build. Can't decide (yeah, I'll probably try both).
Anyhow, please share your experiences.

My amp will be a 50w, high plates, skyliner, 6L6 or EL34.

Thanks!

Hi fabio,

I have a 50W ODS 101 modded to a BM PI.

for me its a bit "edgier" compared to the original PI

- Definitely try both - easy changes to make once built. See which you prefer. Easy to change back.

Scott, Gil et al , will have a more extensive and knowledgeable view than me on the BM PI - I'm no expert. I think its more akin to a Marshal topology in the PI.

Thanks, pedro.

I'll definetly try both. Just checking were people stood on thier preferences.
I think I'll start with the regular PI.

Both work fine. BM is indeed more edgy and upfront. Sometimes this is cool....
