Hello Amp Builders. Would a few of you gurus mind taking a look at this and see if my transformer location / Orientation appears to present any significant issues.
By putting the OPT in this orientation, the wires don't end up under a circuit board... which I prefer unless it will cause me another form of grief.
What do you think?
Thanks RJ

Re: Transformer Location / Orientation Check - ODS Clone
should work fine - would be even better if you rotated them both 90 degrees but that defeats your purpose. The dead spot of transformer radiation is the side of the interleaves and the power transformer has a lot more radiation than an output. Your orientation would be ideal if the opposite were true. Why not run the leads across the chassis and through a grommet next to the tubes to avoid the under circuit board dilemma? Like this:

Not much to add, except that Marshall orients their OPT as you have it.

Try the headphone trick on the OT and see how quiet it is in that particular position. At least then you'll know what you're up against.

Transformers Mounted
I thank you all for your help... this forum is an amazingly helpful place.
In the end I rotated the transformers 90 degrees and mounted them up. After a 2nd look I convinced myself there wasn't any real problem with the clearances and I think all is well.
Here is a peak at the project now. This is for a local guitarist with the Dumble bug. He will be doing the final assembly - wiring and stuffing the circuit boards. I suspect he will be a regular on the forum as he sorts out the finer points of a self built ODS.
thanks again for the help... helpful comments always are welcome.
