Preamp Out/Power In Are they used?

Can anyone tell me if these jacks are really useful? How many of you actually use these (and what for)?

I use them to connect to a parallel effects loop so yes, they're important.

On another amp I built in a Dumbleator in that location. Works great.

They are also invaluable when troubleshooting problems that may occur later (easy way to divide and conquer).
