Does that sound like a Dumble Amp to you?

Post by donvan »

Rick Beato makes a pretty good podcast/youtube video. In this video he is taking a closer look at a guitar solo from a hit song that got lost in the mix. When he isolates this track at 5:55 my ears hear delicious Dumble tone. This is the kind of tone that I was looking for when I discovered Dumble amplifiers and the amp garage. Christopher Cross MUST BE using using a Dumble here. I could be wrong. What do your ears say?

Start at 5:55 in the following video

I believe he used to have 2 x Dumbleland 300SL and I'm sure I also read there was an ODS in the mix too. One hell of a rig!

Joe B currently uses one of the 2x12 orange suede cabs in his rig.

BTW I saw him 2 weeks ago. Great player, great voice and amazing songwriter.

Several rather large-ish Dumble 4x12 cabinets, as well, if I remember correctly....

No idea, not sure where I got the pic from either. It looks like 2 Dumbleland 300SL on the left with an ODS on the right...

I like Rick Beato best when he sticks to being an encyclopedia for music theory and showing off his perfect pitch phenomenon son.

Fwiw the solo at 5:55 doesn’t sound very Dumble like imo , more like a cranked up stock amp of some sort

+10

He did a misguided video about Gibson's business model with a friend of mine. That was a half hour nobody will ever get back. I lost another hour continuing to scream about internet geniuses. I quit facebook and stopped talking to DA. They never mentioned collusion with Guitar Center or anything in reality having to do with Gibson's tremendous problems.

Jeff Beck can be copied, btw.

That guy in Pablo Cruise had a good rig going. No idea, but he was also playing really well. hehe
