Weird idea for HRM preamp

Post by beasleybodyshop »

Hey everyone! it's been a little while. I have this old chassis and enclosure from a Klemt Echolette, which was an old 60s Tape Delay. I had it as a parts unit for another one that I had and it was going to be virtually unsalveagable in it's current state so i stripped the rest of the components out, and left in the power transformer as it was still good.

Now, I had been contemplating a Bluesmaster HRM build for some time now, as it's one of the few Dumble Circuits I haven't really built - but i'll be honest, I just don't have the appetite to build out a whole, full sized Dumble amp. I saw this enclosure sitting on my bench and though it would be cool to build the HRM preamp, possibly with dumbleator loop inside it and just interface it with one of my other dumble amps via the preamp send and return jacks and utilize the power amp section.

So I dimensioned out the faceplate of the old Klemt and drafted a new one. Will be coming up with a layout for the preamp as well as D'lator as well at some time, but I shouldnt have to reinvent the wheel too much as there is plenty of space inside the chassis.

I'll mount the HRM board/trimmers on the inside thats accessable via the removable top panel that covered the tape transport originally. Thought this would be a cool way to reuse a really awesome enclosure and scratch my Bluesmaster HRM itch at the same time!

most excellent idea :D

Looking forward to seeing this come to life.

Bluesmaster is a great ODS amp. Probably my favourite if I had to pick 1.
