Ceriatone Dumble

Post by jackdc100 »

Anybody get a hold on a pre-production Ceriatone Dumble? I heard on another forum that he is selling the kits already. I am trying to decide if i want to go ahead and buy one of the Trainwreck clones or wait. My instinct tells me that I will be happier with the Dumble because I am more of a Fender guy.

Why don't you just get the kit from Funkalicous Groove? His "clone" most likely wipes the floor a thousand times over compared to Ceriatone. Has Nik even played a Dumble?

Well, I am new here and I don't really know anything about his amps. I also don't have the skills, time or resources to build a kit. Any contact info about him would be much appreciated though. Does he sell them pre-assembled?

There are a lot of guys on this board that could build one for you.

As I've said a few times...I have one coming...When,, who knows...Nik has been tweaking it for quite a while now. I ordered it almost three months ago. I want one of Funks offerings but it's just logistically "difficult" to get one to Japan. If Nik's isn't quite right I figure it will be at least a decent platform to work from.

Yeah, I guess that I want at least one glowing review before I buy one. I can't wait to get a report from you though. How much did he charge for it?

Jack,

Just talked to Nik. He's just waiting on faceplates. It was $865. Ya, I'm pretty curious to see what it sounds like and any amp for less than a grand in Japan is well.....rare...lol. Hell, Champs are going for that on Yahoo auctions

Yikes. That significantly more expensive than the rest of the amps. The complete Trainwreck expresses go for like $650. Hmm. Hopefully it will be worth it. Thanks for the info,

Hey All,

I had asked Nik about this. He said that this amp was significantly more complex then anything else that he has (DC30 being next). There was still a bit of tweaking that he was doing on one of the channels.

Cheers, Mike

Yes, it's a little more but as Mike said there is also a lot more to the build than a wreck. I figure, a full 7 board ODS for that price is pretty darn reasonable even if I do have to budget for an OT upgrade. Nik hasn't released any sub-par amps to date and I don't expect this amp to be any different.

I know. I am psyched to hear what this one will sound like. I wasn't trying to talk trash or anything.

Haha...no worries Jack. I have to come clean....for a brief moment when Nik told me the price I thought....Oh! that's a tad more than usual...lol. But having recently built a D'Lite with an active loop and footswitch relays I realized there's a bit more going on in a D style amp than an 18 watter.

Cheers,

Chris
