Vox is releasing a D-style version of their nutube powered MV50 line.
It may be nothing more than a D-style OD pedal going into a class d amp, but for $199.00 it may be worth a look.
Any thoughts?

It may not even be D-style. It just says it's modeled after a sought after boutique amp. The wood makes me think of a Mark I boogie or a Trainwreck for some reason. (Reminds me of the plain wood TW cabs)
I had looked up some specs on the Nu-tubes and wasn't that impressed. I wonder how they got enough gain out of 4 gain stages with the Nu-tube to match the 4 triodes of a 12AX7 in the ODS.

Re: Vox MV50 Boutique
My best guess is the 'gain' comes from solid state effects built into the unit. They have multiple modelling amps out there. They added the nutube to add some 'purported tube warmth/tone' but I've had some of the tube gurus that have looked at the datasheets and made it clear they do NOT replicate a real tube by a long shot. They barely amplify the signal and don't really color it like tubes do.

I'll be one of the first to give it a shot after it hits the stores. I've never played a real Dumble so I won't be the best reviewer but I'll post my two cents.
It would sure be nice if someone could do a side by side test and post the results.

Re: Vox MV50 Boutique
Hi...I purchased the MV50 AC in August of 2017 and it has been my main gigging amp since. It replaced my Roland Cube 80XL which I still use occasionally.
I like to use different cabs depending on the gig. I'll use a 4Ω cab if I need 50 watts or an 8Ω cab if I only need 25 watts. For effects I actually use a Zoom G1on , a hugely underrated and powerful Fisher-Price looking multieffects. I use it strictly for effects, no amp or cab models cause the Vox just sounds so good besides running an amp model through a guitar amp never sounds good to me.
