SSS Overdrive

Post by Krinkle »

My build sounds good but I can't get that overdrive from the Muzz video of the Welagen SSS, starting at 6:39. Are my eyes deceiving me or do they have the Volume, FET Volume, and Master Volume all at 10 ?!?!?!?

Also, is there just FET boost on this amp or do you think they are using PAB?

Changing the volume pot to 1MA and the V1b 1k resistor to 100R fixed this. Amp sounds amazing now.

SSS 002 schematic, with a few differences.

Got the idea that 1MA volume pot instead of 100k and 100R on V1b instead of 1k were fixes from a thread by David Root. I really think he is correct.
