Small enclosure Dlator build

Post by M Fowler »

Started on small enclosure 12 x 8 x 2 Hammond enclosure Dumblelator using Fender stand alone reverb PT and choke.

Very early stages.

I want to get front and back plates for this that is why I haven't gone to far yet.

Got to design them if I can. :D

Mark,

I did one very similar to that years ago and it turned out really nice tone wise.

I remember that build, nice to have a compact unit when rack unit isn't wanted.

My first Dlater was a rack unit so had plenty of room to play with this one will require some component placement forethought which may be challenging for me. :D

Hi, I also built a dlator in a 12x8x2 chassis a while ago and finally got my face-plate designed and ready to get laser etched. I attached it here if it might be useful to you. There is part of a back plate designed on this word doc as well.

Cheers!

This unit was acting strange very little signal coming through so I went through all the wiring and no change.

I said to myself that I measured all the resistors before using them so I don't need to re-measure them in circuit.

Wrong I had a 100R instead of a 100k and presto the unit is now functioning as it should.

Lesson for the day check your components to save you from having to trouble shoot.

Glad it's not just me that does that then :D had the same thing with my latest build, a 100R that was labelled in a bag of 10 from mouser as 100K.

I put my small dumbleator in the back :D
