Anyone ever use an Express output xfmr for an ODS build?

Post by mlp-mx6 »

I'm working on a 2-6V6 ODS build (#102-ish), and thought that perhaps an Express output xfmr (6.6K) would be a good choice. (Deluxe Reverb OT is the other choice) Anyone have any experience in this direction? Pro or con?

Thanks,
Michael

Ive build a 102 style with a Deluxe transformer, and it didn't have the same low end and overall sound of my 100watt build. Its ends up sounding more like a hot rodded Deluxe

I think the OT that came with my d'lite kit was an 8k primary.
Maybe a Marshall 18 watt style OT?

Disclaimer: I don't really understand the relationship between PA load lines and OT primary peculiarities.
