Anyone ever try something like a Zendrive, Timmy or compressor AFTER the clean channel and prior to the OD channel?
I think it might be an interesting experiment. And perhaps the tone controls on the OD pedal or compressor might bring something useful to the OD channel?
An OD pedal sounds great into the front end of my amp and sounds awful in the active FX loop just prior to the LTPI. I'm just curious about after the clean and prior to the OD?
I may try this as an experiment over the 4th July wkend & just rig up something on a plastic sheet without drilling holes in the chassis & simply ground the jacks on to the chassis.

Re: Clean to OD pedal to OD ?
wouldn't it just act as an extra gain stage? albeit a pretty beefy one.
I'm a fan of the Zendrive myself, got one on my touring board when using rental amps, along with a Menatone Red snapper.

Yes I have, but I felt there was just too much signal into the Zendrive. Even with gain on min it was too much and just sounded ratty.

Thanks for the responses!
Bob, just to make sure I am understanding you .............
You tried an OD pedal after the clean and before the OD channel (in contrast to after the OD channel prior to the LTPI)? Correct?
And did you try a compressor pedal also? And if so, did you get the same "ratty" tone?
