Master vol pot failure 70`s dumble

Post by groovtubin »

OK, just blew the master pot on 70`s circuit, grounded the tail resistor to that lug, alpha is a 1/2 watter, blowing that was FUN!! :) SO any ideas on this? I see in orig pics that HAD used older fender types, can anyone tell me if a 1 watter will handle it? :) Or should i use another ground point?

Jim, IIRC there's not much difference the wattage of those older 70's CTS full size pots and the smaller 15mm carbon CTS trimmers. No reason why the normal CTS or Alpha would not be fine, are sure it wasn't just a mechanical failure?
