Bass?

I was wondering if any of you play a bass guitar through your Overdrive Specials?

I have a 5 string bass that mostly sits collecting dust.
But sometimes I get wild hair and like to use it to lay down some bass tracks.
Usually I record direct but other times I like to record from speakers.

The speaker cab has two classic EV 12L's.

I'm a little scared to try since the speakers are very expensive.

if it's for recording then you don't need to be that loud so you should be fine.

I record bass sometimes through a 1x12 marshall cab with an eminence speaker.

I think you'd hear if you were starting to do damage.
