Does the Tonemaster PT handle current enought for SSS circuit?

I found one with these characteristic:

Thanks

0V RED
120V GREEN

0V YELLOW
100V VIOLET
110V BLUE
120V BLACK

Secondary:
185V@600mA RED
0V GREEN/YELLOW
185V RED

28V@300mA BROWN

The back biasing is very straight forward with a full wave rectifier. I'm not sure how I would do it with a full wave bridge rectifier. You'd likely need another full wave bridge wired backwards and then drop a LOT of voltage. Kind of clunky once you start pushing the grids.

I think I will run with twin reverb iron.

Thanks Smitty

Which SSS? 100W or 150W. The 100w versions (SSS01-SSS04), as mentioned, run on Fender Twin iron.

It is FWB not FW like a Twin Reverb. Please see my last post.

Agreed. You'd probably end up having to go with a separate transformer for the bias.

The Fender Tonemaster schematic shows the bias supply is half-wave rectified from the Brown-Brown secondary, -48vdc at the tubes.

I don't know what specs he's using in the original post - but the 28vac secondary looks incorrect to me.

I think 28V brown-brown is for bias voltage doubler circuit!

You're both right- the Tonemaster bias supply is a half-wave voltage doubler.

I'd use a doubler, if that tap is really 28v. Tonemaster schematic doesn't have a doubler, just one diode, at least the schematic I saw.

Yes, there are two versions- one dated '93 and the other '94. The later one uses a doubler, and the PT's have different PN's.
