HRM sound Clips

Post by Tonegeek »

My last clips sucked so I have been tweakin'. Strayed a bit from the fold with my circuitry, but it works for me...
These were recorded using 2 Hellatone 30's. There is some delay/verb using the loop and one clip even has a (dare I say?) homemade TS-808.

It is still a work in progress. I have been trying out a single 12" Celestion which is supposed to be a copy of an EV. It sounds really good (very even response, no coloration, etc. like an EV) and I think I like it even better than the Hellatones. Will make some clips with it someday.

Very cool sound with strat 8) and cool playing too 8) Congrats !! You really nailed the Eric Johnson sound on the last clip. I hope my new HRM will sound as good as Yours.

What kind of reverb did You use ?

Is the loop in Your clone series or parallel ?

Thanks for shearing,

Thanks for the support! Are you the Mat that did that killer 'sloppy-96" clip? That clip alone makes me both want to do a non-HRM build and get a guitar with Humbuckers. I have been eyeballing my '70 Twin for my next build...and my Strat has the "swimming pool" route so it could take a 'bucker...

The loop is a series D'lator built in. I am very curious about a parallel loop and may mod this one sometime to try it out. I believe it will flip the phase unless you add another tube, but thats ok since my FX unit also flips it (2 wrongs make a right for once!)

The verb and delay are from a Boss GT-3. I used a Plate setting for the verb and 340ms on the delay.

Good luck with your HRM build.

Yes, thats me. Thanks for the compliment. My clone definitely is a different thing with HB/SC. I'll try also to record a strat clip. You should definitely try Your amp with HB's, I'm sure You will like it.
Good luck with your HRM build.
Thanks,

Listen to this Norwegian. I think he plays a little like Eric Johnson on some songs. Journey and Coming Home are good examples.

Note that it was recorded in 1989..

Some nice clips here too:
