Pot Switch Question

Post by wattsup »

If I wanted to make a custom chassis for an HRM build w/the HRM pots on the outside front of the chassis - is there a limit to how close the pot switches should be?

Pot switches?

Or do you mean how close can the pots be to each other?

The main factor would be the knobs you choose.

The chicken beak type knobs have to be far enough apart to allow full rotation.

Look at the Red Plate DMM amp it is an HRM. The HRM loop has pots on faceplate rather then trim pots. Just space the pots evenly across the faceplate and use small knobs to make it easy on yourself. I prefer the small Trainwreck style knobs in a situation like this.

Ah thanks! I didn't know if I would cause any kind of issues by moving them closer together. I'm looking at smaller knobs to make room since the chicken heads need a pretty large radius. Any other place to look for them other than antique electronic supply?

Try Steve at Apex Jr. Did I say cheap? (His stuff, not Steve himself!).

While the Tayda site looks interesting, I really like ordering from Apex. Steve ships fast and I get items in 2 days, all the way across the country.

Plus he could not be nicer!

His stranded PTFE is great wire too
